As İctimai TV’s new drama Tilov gains growing attention from viewers, actor Amid Gasimov shared his insights about portraying Nazim, the series’ central character. His remarks during a recent talk show revealed how deeply he engaged with the role and the ideas behind it.
According to Gasimov, Nazim’s character underwent multiple stages of development before reaching its final form. “Nazim became Nazim after passing a few stages,” he said. “Criminal stories always draw attention where humans and laws face each other. That theme attracted me because it allows freedom in performance.”
Gasimov emphasized that Tilov is more than a crime drama — it’s a study of conscience and justice. “I learned that being a policeman is not only about carrying a metal shoulder mark, but dignity itself,” he explained. “My sympathy for policemen increased; I realized that true heroism is often hidden behind what we think we see.”
Reflecting on the story’s moral complexity, he added: “Who is the policeman, who is the victim, who is the villain? This series forces you to look inside yourself.”
The actor also praised the production team for their dedication, singling out five women from the crew — Aytan, Sevda, Aysel, Laman, and Narmin — for their exceptional effort. “They are the true heroes,” he said, expressing gratitude for their hard work during filming.
Gasimov concluded with optimism: “I have positive expectations from this project. It will bring pride not only to viewers but also to the police who see themselves represented honestly.”
Tilov continues to air every Sunday at 9 PM on İctimai TV, standing out for its authentic performances, nuanced writing, and the moral questions it leaves lingering long after each episode ends.
